Teacher Training Program

Balance Center has started a Teacher Training (TT) Series.

Session 1: Wed January 4-February 8, 7:30-9:30pm, cost $480
Session 2: Wed February 22 - March 28, 7:30-9:30, cost $480
Session 3: Wed April 18- May 23, 7:30-9:30, cost $480

Cost per series: $480
Certification requires 120 hours of class time.

In addition, there is also an apprenticeship requirement, where you assist in classes.

You may take the class as a path to become Certified, or just to get a deeper understanding of Balance and to build your community of Balance.

Do you have a bundle of joy in your life or are about to? Do you have back, neck, shoulder, hip or knee pain or tension related to this pregnancy, baby or toddler? Whether your baby is 6 pounds, 30 pounds or in utero, your back can be better. In this 4-session class, you will learn specific simple guidelines that will not only protect your joints from future pain, but will begin easing the tension of current ones. We will cover safe lifting, bending, carrying positions as well as standing and sitting positions for maximum relaxation.

In this 4-session class, begin your journey of body awareness with the healthy basics of back and joint alignment. A small piece of tape placed on your back tells you exactly where your spine is most vulnerable. Learn to sense the interplay between muscle tension and bone alignment. This awareness will simultaneously release you from pain; prevent further injury; and maximize movement efficiency. You can feel better and be yourself again.

Instructors: Jean Couch, Founder and Director of the Balance Center and author of The Runner's World Yoga Book, and Jenn Sherer, Certified Balance Instructor.
